Soccer

FIFA Quality Pro for ninety minutes, twice a week, every season.

Predator and UltraBlade systems for collegiate, MLS-affiliated, and high school soccer. Low-pile fiber, FIFA-spec infill ratios, and a shock pad we never skip. Every fiber extruded in Dadeville, AL. Every roll tufted in Chatsworth, GA.

Two systems. One sport.

Match the level of play. Don't overspec. Don't underbuild.

Predator is the dual-fiber premier system for FIFA Quality Pro certification, NCAA Division I, and pro-affiliated soccer. UltraBlade is the workhorse for NFHS programs, parks complexes, and clubs that share the surface across age groups. Both ship with the same 8-year limited warranty. Both are extruded and tufted in our two American plants.

Premier Predator dual-fiber soccer turf system, low-pile Apex monofilament

Predator

Low-pile Apex monofilament built for true ball roll, FIFA Quality Pro certification, and the kind of cleat traffic that comes with two-a-day collegiate practices. Pairs with a 16-25mm shock pad on every install above club level.

Workhorse UltraBlade slit-film blade fiber soccer turf system

UltraBlade

Slit-film blade fiber engineered for NFHS soccer, parks-department complexes, and club fields shared with football, lacrosse, and PE. Same 8-year warranty as Predator. Friendlier line item for districts running multiple sports off one surface.

What to spec by level of play

Match the system to the schedule.

A high school program that hosts varsity, JV, and PE on the same field is a different project than a USL Championship club running ninety-minute matches with a TV truck on site. Here is how Sprinturf typically specs each level of soccer.

Soccer FAQ

Questions soccer programs actually ask.

If your question is not here, ask the regional rep on your call. We do not route field questions to a sales hotline.

Ask a Sprinturf rep
What is FIFA Quality Pro and do Sprinturf systems meet it?

FIFA Quality Pro is the higher of FIFA's two artificial turf testing tiers, used for top-tier club and international play. It tests ball roll, ball rebound, shock absorption, vertical deformation, and rotational resistance against tighter ranges than FIFA Quality. Sprinturf builds Predator soccer systems to FIFA Quality Pro spec and supports the certification process on projects that require it. The Colorado Springs Switchbacks USL field is a documented example of a Sprinturf system that passed FIFA certification on first test.

Should we infill our soccer field with sand, rubber, or organic?

All three work. Sand-only fields play firm and fast, which collegiate and professional programs sometimes prefer. Sand-and-rubber is the standard for FIFA Quality Pro because it adds shock absorption without giving up ball roll. GreenPlay or NaturalCool organic infills run cooler in summer and are the typical choice for Sun Belt and stadium programs that worry about surface temperature on hot afternoons. Sprinturf will spec all three on a project-specific basis after a conversation about climate, level of play, and what the program is trying to optimize.

Is synthetic turf safe for headers and aerial play?

Header safety on synthetic soccer fields depends on Gmax and HIC values, not the fiber type. FIFA Quality Pro requires Gmax under a defined ceiling and Sprinturf systems are tested below that range. The bigger contributor to header safety is the shock pad layer underneath the turf. Sprinturf recommends a 16mm to 25mm pad on every soccer field at high school level and above. We do not skip the pad to hit a price point and we publish per-project Gmax test results on request.

What about fall heights, concussion risk, and youth play?

Critical fall height for synthetic soccer surfaces is determined by Gmax testing under ASTM F355. Sprinturf soccer systems are tested at multiple impact points on every project and we publish the results. For programs that field youth players or run summer camps, an upgraded shock pad pushes critical fall height past 1.3 meters, which is the FIFA Quality Pro floor and a comfortable margin for academy-level play.

How fast does a Sprinturf soccer field drain?

A properly built Sprinturf soccer field with a Shockdrain 580 pad and a stone base drains rainfall faster than the storm itself in most US climates. Field availability is one of the main reasons collegiate and club soccer programs choose synthetic over natural grass. We spec the drainage system to local rainfall patterns, not to a generic catalog number, and we do not skip the perimeter drains to save margin.

How long does a Sprinturf soccer field last?

Predator and UltraBlade soccer systems carry an 8-year limited warranty. Field life on properly installed Sprinturf systems averages 12 to 14 years before performance-driven replacement. Soccer fields tend to retire on the upper end of that range because soccer cleats are smaller and shorter than football cleats and the wear pattern is more even across the surface.

Already on a co-op? You're already buying.

Sprinturf is an approved vendor on Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners, BuyBoard, and TIPS-USA. Skip the full RFP and piggyback an existing contract. Most soccer fields close 30 to 60 days faster on co-op than on traditional public bid.
