01 / The story
The Hoover Met Complex was built to be one of the most complete tournament destinations in the South. When the City of Hoover engineered the build-out, the standard was a year-round, tournament-grade amateur calendar on a campus adjacent to the Hoover Met Stadium, the long-time host of the SEC Baseball Tournament. Sprinturf delivered over a million square feet of synthetic turf to that standard.
A complex built for tournament weekends.
The Hoover Met Complex sits adjacent to the Hoover Met Stadium, the long-time home of the SEC Baseball Tournament. The complex itself includes four baseball fields engineered for Division I and major tournament play, five NCAA-regulation multipurpose fields suitable for soccer, football, and lacrosse, and sixteen tennis courts. The facility is built around the volume of large-scale sporting events: full-service concessions, Wi-Fi access throughout, ample parking, and RV accommodations for traveling teams and families.
Sprinturf delivered the playing surfaces.
Sprinturf, LLC was awarded the synthetic turf scope for the entire complex. The four baseball fields received Sprinturf's tournament-grade baseball systems with infield, outfield, and warning track in coordinated dual-fiber profiles. The five multipurpose fields received NCAA-regulation Sprinturf systems engineered for soccer, football, and lacrosse traffic in any combination. Across the install, every fiber was American-extruded, American-tufted, and installed by Sprinturf field crews.
A million square feet, one accountable manufacturer.
An installation at this volume could have come from a turf brand that subcontracted fiber sourcing, tufting, and labor across three or four vendors. It didn't. Sprinturf is the only North American synthetic turf company that owns extrusion through tufting through coating in-house. Every fiber on every Hoover Met Complex field came from Dadeville, Alabama. Every roll of turf was tufted in Chatsworth, Georgia. The City of Hoover got one accountable manufacturer for the warranty, the test data, and the install.

A reference build for multi-sport campuses.
The Hoover Met Complex is the project Sprinturf points multi-sport campus planners toward. Universities planning shared football and soccer footprints. Park-and-rec districts planning tournament-grade baseball quads. Athletic complexes that need a single manufacturer accountable for fifteen surfaces instead of fifteen subcontracts. The model is right here, on the south side of Birmingham, in over a million square feet of American-made synthetic turf still hosting tournament play seven years on.
